From Service Manager to leading Asset Finance: My Story – Per Högberg

When I joined our company as a Service Manager in Sept 2016, I couldn’t foresee the journey ahead - how much I would learn and how deeply I would care about our mission and people. I’ve now worked professionally in IT for 30 years (crazy...), starting as a Systems Trainee at Scania in 1994. Since then, I’ve held leadership roles across infrastructure, consultancy, high-tech, and financial services. I recognized that a company like Banqsoft - growing and ambitious - would offer development opportunities worth pursuing. Back in 2016, I was driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the delivery machinery from the inside - how we support our clients and run our systems. I quickly saw that behind every ticket and issue was a client working to deliver value to their customers. Our ability to respond with care and competence, and to offer meaningful solutions, is what truly matters. That was true then, and still is today. Growing with the business soon after, I had the chance to lead our Service Management function - an exciting step. I moved from day-to-day operations into shaping standards and structures for scale. I learned the power of enabling excellence, of fostering initiative, and most of all: putting people first. We transformed service management from a reactive unit into a proactive client partner, building a collaborative, cross-border team built on trust. From services to transformation later, I took on leadership of Banqsoft Professional Services, working closely with delivery teams and project managers to bring big ideas to life. I saw our software help financial institutions through transformation, with moments of real impact, like when a platform or commercial product offering went live or when we drastically reduced processing times. This role taught me the value of implementation done right - how transparency, alignment, and passion drive not just delivery, but lasting trust with our clients. Leading Asset Finance in recent years, I’ve focused on our Asset Finance business: a growing and innovative part of Banqsoft. It's where I’ve brought together lessons from service and delivery into a space where technology meets business transformation. We’re not just building systems, we’re helping shape how banks and leasing companies operate in the asset finance domain. We’re enabling automation, compliance, and scalability, while building solutions that empower both clients and users. What this journey has taught me some key lessons that I carry with me and hope will resonate: Be curious. Ask questions and read, keep learning. Care deeply. About people, clients, and the quality of your work, especially so when interacting with clients. Own your path. It may not be straight, but with initiative, it leads to growth. Lift others. Some of my proudest moments are seeing others I’ve worked with succeed, especially teammates and leaders I’ve had the chance to support. To my colleagues whether you’re new here or a long-time colleague: what you do matters. We’re helping businesses run better, solving real problems, and building something meaningful together. I’m truly grateful for the journey so far - for the teams I’ve been part of, the leaders who believed in me, and the learning that continues every day. The journey isn’t over - but looking back, I feel proud and thankful. Let’s keep pushing forward - boldly, openly, and together.
