There is a first time for everything
The journey of how Kristine Hansen started her first office job and took part of shaping the role to what it is today: Office Manager.
Banqsoft is my first "real" office job, and the first time I worked with emails, booking meetings, and all the typical computer-based tasks. It was a completely new experience for me. The role I started in was also brand new - it was the first time Banqsoft had a position called Service Coordinator. My first task included handling dishwasher, managing the postal services, and making sure the coffee machine was always working. Many people wanted the "healthy coffee", and it was the first time I learned how to make it. And of course, I had to make sure we never ran out of cookies! One thing I quickly learned: when the coffee machines is down, then the office is down. The position was so new that there was no clear plan for where I was suppose to sit. I still remember it like it was yesterday - my first manager, had been to IKEA and build a front desk. It turned out to be a little too small to work at, but we found another use for it by placing an iPad on it. I ended up sitting behind a glass wall with a good view of the office entrance. After I made a few small changes to the storage room (also known as the "cookie room") and the printer room, I started receiving additional tasks from Finance and HR, such as onboarding and offboarding. Before we had an internal IT at the office, I also began organizing the "IT corner" - sorting out what equipment we needed and what we could get rid of. From Sales, I took on the job of going through and filing all the physical signed agreement that had just been stored in the agreement locker. And involved in planning parties and decorating for every season - Ester, Christmas, Halloween and more. After almost a year behind the glass wall, we redesigned the entrance area and finally got a proper reception desk. Then came Covid, and the office went from full to nearly empty. Most event became virtual - Christmas Caval Cade and Supper Paint & Sip event. But on the bright side, we had more collaboration across the offices. Elinore in Stockholm and Marta in Gdansk, we became the "Tree Musketeers". We were also involved in a project for Physical security at the offices for the ISO certification. Eventually, I took on responsibility for the Sandefjord office as a Service Coordinator and started traveling between the offices. The role of Service Coordinator continued to grow and developed into more of an Office Manager position. Then came even bigger task - helping with move and setup a new office in Trondheim office and renovation the Oslo Office. The following year, I manage the move and renovation of Sandefjord office and planning the company's biggest event yet: Banqosft 30th Anniversary celebration. It's been a incredible journey to be part of - seeing how far Banqsoft has grown and reflecting on how I first started. It's been an inspiring experience, and I'm truly grateful to be part of a company filled with such fantastic people!
